September 29 New Student Late Registration & Drop/Add – Library Building (L-600) Course Audit Request Deadline: October 4 Final Date to drop classes with Refund of Tuition and Fees: October 4 Graduation Eligibility Screening Deadline (Registrar’s Office): October 7 Federal Pell Grant checks will be distributed after the fourth week of the quarter. Please remember that students who withdraw from all classes may have a balance due; therefore, these accounts will be placed on hold until paid in full. Please see your faculty advisor for guidance in your course selection. EXEMPTION EXAMS Apply to take an exemption in the Registrar’s Office. If eligible to take the exam(s) requested, the student will be issued an Exemption Exam Form. The student will complete the section requiring their name, student I.D. number, program and signature. Pay the exemption exam fee at the Cashier's Window. The cashier will stamp the form “PAID”. The student will take the Exemption Exam Form to the School Dean responsible for arranging the administration of the exam. This process should happen during the Drop/Add period. FINANCIAL AID Georgia residents enrolling in programs which are eligible for the HOPE Grant or HOPE Scholarship will receive funds that pay tuition, registration fee, activity fee, and a book allowance of $50 or $100. Apply for the HOPE Grant and HOPE Scholarship at www.fafsa.gov or www.GAcollege411.org. To determine eligibility for the Federal Pell Grant, applicants enrolled in a degree, diploma, or Pell-approved certificate must complete a 2010-2011 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Applicants should access www.fafsa.gov to submit Pell Grant applications to the Department of Education using 2009 tax information. Students should read the Student Aid Report (sent to students by Department of Education or printed at www.fafsa.gov) to determine if they have been selected for a process called Verification. Students selected for Verification must submit 2009 Federal tax information to the Financial Aid Office to ensure a Pell disbursement during Summer Quarter 2010. Financial aid recipients must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) as follows:
Mandatory Fees (PER QUARTER): Registration Fee $26, Activity Fee $16, The cost of books varies depending upon the program. Some programs also require the purchase of uniforms and additional supplies. Payment Due Dates All tuition and fees are due and payable at the time of registration and
may be paid by check, cash, Visa, MasterCard or pre-approved financial aid. All
pre and open registrations for which the account is not settled by 12:00
pm on Other Fees: GRADUATION All students who will be eligible to graduate from their current major at the end of SummerQuarter should follow these instructions: All prospective FallQuarter graduates should call the Registrar's Office at (706) 649-1857 to make an appointment for their graduation eligibility screening. The prospective graduates must complete this graduation screening by October 7, 2010. This deadline is critical for our students to be able to make any schedule changes to meet eligibility requirements for graduation. Any students, who have no deficiencies, will submit their diploma information to the staff in the Registrar's Office at that time.
